Extra Day Off \o/
Aug. 28th, 2015 10:58 amIt's a bank holiday this weekend which I keep forgetting about because I've spent the last 5 years having to work them if my shift happened to fall on that day. So far this week I've turned down Sunday cocktails (gasp) because I thought I was working on Monday and tried to schedule a meeting for Monday and then wondered why no one could attend.
But now that I've wrapped my head around this whole having an extra day off thing it's shaping up to be a good weekend.
jacqui_hw has a friend coming over and the current plan is 90s movies, shopping, another screening of The Man From UNCLE movie (my 4th viewing - what?) and the aforementioned cocktails.
I also need to buy a dress to wear to a wedding reception I've been invited to which is next Friday. I don't do dresses, and I find it especially hard to find dresses that suit my figure (short and fat). So pray for me. I hate clothes shopping at the best of times. Why can't jeans and t-shirts be mandatory for all occasions :-p
In other exciting news I went to a cat cafe in Newcastle last weekend (hilariously named Mog On The Tyne). It was great. We had coffee and cake and then got to play with kitties for an hour. We had so much fun we decided to go back again for my birthday so that's happening on the 13th (the Sunday before my birthday because I'm at
writerconuk for my actual birthday).
And then it's
writerconuk. Looking forward to it but also kind of nervous as I've organised it this year. Luckily got lots of help from an amazing team which is reducing my stress a bit. I think it'll be fine. I hope so anyway.
