Camera tips

I'm posting this everywhere so if you've seen it multiple times I apologise :D

So, I want to buy a new camera and am looking for suggestions. At the moment I am looking at this which was recommended to me by a friend although this looks good too and the camera I have at the moment is a Panasonic

Anyone got any thoughts/comments/suggestions?
