Apologies SPN friends but I've been exploring new fandoms this week :D

Molly/Lestrade (Sherlock)
An Avalanche of Detour Signs by gyzym
In which Molly Hooper gets a job, gets a degree, breaks a heart, has her heart broken, falls in love, keeps a secret, saves a life, runs a morgue, falls apart, pulls it together, and finds exactly what she didn't know she was looking for--not necessarily in that order.
I'm pretty sure this fic has ruined me for all other Sherlock fic. I've always kind of shied away from reading fics in this fandom simply because the show writing is so good I've never felt the urge for fic. This one was just so good I'm even more convinced I can't read anything else now.

Phil/Clint (Avengers)
Hope is Not a Course of Action by thatdamneddame
Clint loved Natasha like he loved a lot of stupid ideas.
I just really loved the slow-building friendship that eventually develops into even more than that, and it's a lovely weaving of the comics universe and the movie universe. Everyone felt very in character and I loved it.

Launch Your Assault by foxxcub
Phil Coulson was more than halfway through his six year plan, and everything was chugging along nicely.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t foreseen a cocky junior Art major waltzing into his life, or his floor.

There's a Steve/Tony companion piece to this which I read first and did enjoy but this one just really grabbed ahold of me. Usually it takes me a while to wean myself into AUs of new fandoms but I just couldn't stop reading this one

Are you in the UK and interested in the creative aspects of fandom? If so then I have a very exciting event to bring to your attention.

Writerconuk, despite the name, is not just for writers and caters to artists, vidders, betas and readers in fandom.

Every year we have a small, entirely fan run, convention in Coventry, UK where we meet up, host our own panels, have quizzes, chats, workshops and generally squee a lot.

This year will see the 6th event and it's happening 25th-27th May 2012.

Membership is limited to 40 people and tickets are a bargain at £35 for the weekend. We've also managed to score a good deal on hotel rooms at £65 per night for a single or £75 per night for a twin (all including breakfast)

It'd be awesome to see some new people there this year and I know I have a lot of UK fandom friends so I thought I'd make you aware.

If you're interested the sign-up post is here

Any questions just let me know.
