On The Long and Weary Road (Where the Music Played and I was Lost and you were Found) by
pigeongirl99
Set between circa 1919 - 1924. Takes place in Texas, Arkansas, New Orleans, New York, and Chicago. It's the jazz era, and Jensen is traveling the road from place to place, discovering the music of the era as he travels.
I freely admit that I read this thinking it was a J2 fic (there is a small amount of J2 but it's not the main pairing. I didn't read the header properly) but I'm actually really glad I made that mistake. This is a fantastic story. It reads almost like original fiction but at the same time Jensen and Jeff are easily recognisable as themselves. This is just how I imagine them if they'd been born in a different time

Jared and Jensen are in love, have been for most of their lives. There is just one tiny little problem: Jensen is imaginary and they can only be together in Jared's dreams. How can Jared ever find true love in the real world when his heart belongs to a figment of his imagination?
I think this might be my new favourite J2 big bang from this year. I was absolutely hooked from beginning to end, and when I wasn't reading it I really wished I was. I was wondering whether I'd moved on from J2 but this convinced me that I still love reading fics about them and it made me love Chad too. Fantastic.
Nowhere Between Heaven and Hell by

A psychic that gets by reading tea leaves and winning a few hands at poker as he helps people and fights evil things, Jensen is used to only having his spirit guide, Steve, as his occasional company. At a psychic fair in Kansas City, however, he meets a tiny girl with a huge problem, and takes a job in Nowhere, Texas. In Nowhere, Jensen meets two demons that have come to save the town just as much as he has. Jared's not your typical demon, but then again, it seems that Jensen's not your typical psychic, either, and they form a strange connection that might be their only hope in surviving the next twenty-four hours.
This was really enjoyable. Nice original story, well characterised and a great read. And it's another one that made me like Chad. It's nice to see him not characterised as a total douchebag
