The thought that just occasionally he needs us as much as we need him. Even if it's just a case of him thinking 'I'm bored so I'll tweet with my crazy fans for half an hour'.

It makes me feel less crazy if I think of it as a two-way thing, okay?

1. Shawn/Lassie (Psych) - Funnily enough I was just about to do a post about this. I mean I can totally see it and I love the relationship they have on the show but my brain just can't make the leap into them having sex. I'm not even done with S1 yet but as it stands I just can't

2. Sam/Dean (SPN) - I imagine I'm probably missing out on a lot of really good quality fics but I just can't get over the fact that they're brothers.

3. SGA - A lot of my favourite fic authors have written or still write for SGA. I just don't have the time to watch the show unfortunately. I will at some point, I'm sure but I don't know when

4. Harry Potter - I did read a few Harry/Draco and Sirius/Remus fics in the past but it never really grabbed me like it seems to have done for a lot of other people

5. Glee - I tried to get into the show, I really did. I watched the first four episodes but I just found it kind of twee and annoying. I do like the music though. They play it a lot on the radio

It’s not like he doesn’t try to fit in and make friends, he really does. It just seems like nothing he does is good enough for them. If he smiles they blink. If he speaks they stare. And whenever they see him coming they get this panicked look in their eyes like they want to run away and they don’t even know why. Jensen knows why. It’s the same thing that makes his dad worry and his mom cry. That makes Nana tell his parents he’s going to Hell, not even caring that he can hear her. It’s what makes him ‘weird’.
I'm sure some of you are sick of me banging on about how much I love this fic but I really, really do. I don't think any fic has ever gripped and moved me as much as this one did. I am thrilled to bits that Felis is in the process of trying to get it published as an original novel

2. Bulletproof by fleshflutter
When he can't find any acting work, Jared takes a job as driver and bodyguard to Jensen, who is an extremely expensive prostitute with a bad habit of attracting crazy people.
This was one of those fics that took me by surprise in that I don't normally like hooker fics. This one is wonderful though. It's layered and well characterised and an absolutely compelling read. I devoured all 96,000 words of this in one day because I couldn't stop

3. Forty-Three Days by timehasa_way
The stress of filming the last four episodes of season 3 have caught up with Jensen, who blames his hallucinations on Dean's emotional roller coaster and his own lack of sleep. But a short break between the season finale and the shooting of his new movie fails to improve his mental state. He abandons the movie and becomes a recluse in Vancouver, fearing for his own sanity. Once he realizes that the hallucinations are real, and there's more than just his sanity at stake, Jensen contacts Jared, who may be the only person able to understand what Jensen's going through. Jared arrives in Vancouver just in time to save Jensen's life, but the danger threatening Jensen remains. Their lives become a race against time, and the show has brought them more than they'd bargained for. Jared has to keep Jensen alive for 43 days. Can they make it?
I think what I love about this is that it's Non-AU but kind of AU at the same time. I love the idea of Jared and Jensen being caught up in a world where supernatural creatures are actually real and the way this story is told makes it utterly believable

The fifth season of Supernatural, CW's paranormal drama, is scheduled for a return to our screens in autumn. Show creator Eric Kripke is reported to be "thrilled" with the news that show stars, Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles, have confirmed they'll be returning as brothers Dean and Sam Winchester. CW sources confirm that shooting is due to start soon with the first episode due to air on September 20th, 2012." It's been nearly three years since the war against the alien race known as the Others changed the world and nearly four months since they were beaten back by Earth's natural superweapons, the dragons. Jared's looking forward to reconnecting with his best friend and picking up life where he left off. It doesn't seem much to ask but after three years, how much has really changed? And are the secrets Jensen's hiding better left alone?
I don't think I have ever been more surprised by a fic than this one. Nearly a year later I still clearly remember the literal open-mouthed shock as I got to the reveal. Absolutely brilliant and original idea wonderfully executed.

5. Counting the Steps to the Doors of Your Heart by annella
Jensen's life isn't perfect, but he's happy enough. He has friends (well, one friend and one roommate), a prospective career (if he can pass this stupid, stupid test which requires him to be able to talk to people), a sex life of sorts (with guys who are total jerkfaces and think Jensen is a dork, which is actually true), and a life-size Dalek costume with a voice modulator which lets him EXTERMINATE things (like the toaster). Then, out of nowhere, he also has Jared (gorgeous, wonderful, socially retarded, and already taken), and his life turns upside down in the blink of an eye. For the first time, Jensen has found what he wants, but how is he going to get it?
Yeah, I have a pretty major thing for AU fics where the boys are geeks and it pretty much stems from this one. It's adorable and funny.

The name of this food may well be shortened from Magpie.
