This was on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets today

WTF is wrong with some people?

He's helped raise over $21,000 for Haiti in 4 days and you despise him for the way he did it?

I wonder if this same person despises people who do other fun things to raise money for charity. Urgh!

Misha/Jensen
Unlearning Misha by [livejournal.com profile] qthelights
Jensen can't quite figure Misha out, it makes him uncomfortable.
I don't normally read this pairing but someone on my flist suggested I try this one. OMG! It's so good! Misha is so wonderfully understated in this and Jensen's voice is just right.

Misha comment fic by [livejournal.com profile] silvershinigami
“Oh come on, man, it’s Misha. It’s probably just a thing,” Jared says. “Like the sweaters.”
Yeah, as soon as I saw this pic I knew it was perfect comment fic material for [livejournal.com profile] mishas_minions. This responding fic seriously cracked me up.

Dean/Castiel
Many Times, Many Ways by [livejournal.com profile] bauble
“Tell Cas I said hi,” Sam says,
This is just adorable and made me laugh. It's just the sort of level of maturity I expect from Dean ;)

Your result for The Improved Book Character-Savvy Test...

Hey, you! Cool dude!

You scored 81% Best Seller, 70% Classic and 67% Fantasy/Sci-Fi!

You're on the right track. William Faulker once said, "The artist is of no importance. Only what he creates is important, since there is nothing new to be said. Shakespeare, Balzac, Homer have all written about the same things, and if they had lived one thousand or two thousand years longer, the publishers wouldn't have needed anyone since." Which means you've been spending (not wasting, merely spending) your time reading authors that are saying the same things stated by the great classics. Try them. Classics don't bite. And Fantasy and Sci-Fi are goooooood.

Your rank: The Puzzle Dog (In a Hitchcock pose or something...)

I spent most of the day at work doing an insanely boring job that involved lots of cutting and pasting from notepad into excel. After a while I politely excused myself and put my ipod on to make it slightly less tedious.

1. Who else remembers the days when fanmixes were CDs rather than uploaded playlists? I found a couple of Buffy ones that [livejournal.com profile] spikewriter (I think) made YEARS ago. Did fanmixes exist in the pre-CD era? Did people mail each other cassettes back in the 80s?

2. I still remember the first MP3 I ever...shall we say aquired, since you couldn't buy them back then. [livejournal.com profile] nam_melon sent me a Dido song through ICQ. As you can imagine that was quite fun back in the days of dialup.

I feel all nostalgic now

TV stuff

Still very much enjoying Psych. Amusingly in the second episode Gus found a poison because he said he could smell sulphor. Well, of course I thought it meant there were demons. LOL

[livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw then started imagining an amusing Psych/SPN crossover where Shawn and Dean spend ages smart talking to each other while Gus and Sam roll their eyes and head for the nearest bar.

Then in ep 3 the woman who played Doctor Piccolo in Changing Channels showed up which amused me no end.

"You're brilliant, you know that? And a coward. You're a brilliant coward."

Hehe!

I was trawling back through my old entries looking for the one and only spangel fic I wrote and I found an old fic meme I took years back. Thought it might be fun to do it again.

I'm not counting collaborative works here (unless the question asks about it)

Most memorable:
Egads, start with an easy question why don't you. Wow, my most memorable fic ever? Hmm...I suppose Misha Collins Makes A Match for the sheer word length. It kind of broke a seal for me and I can't stop writing long fics now. LOL.

Least memorable:
I don't remember ;)

Your favorite:
Oh, come on. That's like choosing a favourite child or something. Fine, Lost and Found. It was my first slash story and one of those occasions where I just really felt like I connected with the characters. Plus, I must have got it right because the Norrington I wrote in this was pretty much exactly what we got in Dead Man's Chest and I wrote this way before that film even had a title.

Your least favorite:
I don't have a least favourite. I have fics that I know haven't worked so well but I like them all to some degree or another or I wouldn't have posted them

Your most successful (in terms of reviews):
What Dreams May Come

Your biggest bomb (in terms of reviews):
The Luck of the Irish. Zero comments *sob*

Your biggest surprise hit:
Shelter From The Storm. Seriously, my first attempt at mpreg and I was expecting a few of my friends to leave polite comments and that was it

Your biggest surprise bomb:
I wouldn't call it a bomb but I was a bit disappointed Twisted Love didn't get more comments

The theme of your fics:

Happiness. Seriously, I have tried to write angst and it never works. I can do mild doses of angst to keep the story interesting but nothing too epic. And all my fics have to have a happy ending

You As A Writer:

Best moment in your writing career:

Any sort of positive feedback to be honest. Any time I complete a fic I feel good, but knowing other people enjoyed it? Nothing beats that feeling

Worst moment in your writing career:
Some of you will remember the unfortunate incident where I was accused of plagiarism a couple of years back. Seriously, I don't think I can put into words how much that hurt me. Implying that I am incapable of having the imagination to come up with my own ideas is about the worst thing anyone has ever said to me and that's probably the last time I really properly cried.

Easiest fic to write:
Writing is never what I would call easy. Some stories flow better than others but I don't think there's a specific one

Hardest fic to write:
I am looking at the cursed M2 fic again right now. Egads I will be glad when it's done

How long have you had a ff.net account:
Wow, this shows you how old this meme is. I do still actually have my account at The Pit but I never use it anymore. I set it up in Dec 2000 which is before I had an LJ.

How long do you plan to have a ff.net account:
I think I answered this already

How did you find ff.net:
According to the last time I filled this in it was through [livejournal.com profile] flickums

The Future:

Planning on starting a new series?:

I'm not ruling out further exploration of the writer!Jensen 'verse but there are other things I need to do first

Planning on writing a sequel?:
Nope!

Plan on co-writing anything?:
Again I won't rule it out when I get all my current projects done

What genre would you like to work more in?:
One day I will write crippling angst with bonus character death. Ah, who am I kidding? LOL

CLOSING:

What was the absolute pinnacle (as of today) of your writing career:

I thought we covered this already.

What was the absolute worst event in your writing career:
Yeah, we definitely covered this

What are you most thankful for in your writing:
Every single person who has ever done a beta for me and every single person who has taken the time to leave a comment.
