I needs me a posse

Right then! My Sweet Charity fic is now with my beta so it's time to turn my attention to rpf_big_bang

I want to put together a group of advisers who I can annoy ask random questions about the CW boys if I need specific details for my fic. It'll all be done by filtered LJ posts.

vichan is already on the list as my US geography adviser but if anyone else wants to help me out with that it's all good

Fic recs

So, woman_of_ had the good idea of divvying up the spn_j2_bigbang stories between a few of us and then putting together an uber rec list of all the stuff we liked. So, every Monday until I've read all the stories I picked to read (based on the summaries that were published before the fics) I'll have a rec list for you which woman_of_ will put into a master list to be posted later

I've got three for you this week

Title: Apocalypse: Cancelled

Summary: July 7, 2008 at 2 a.m. in the morning a comet will hit Earth, destroying all human life. Humanity gets 54 hours to prepare and chaos ensues. A chance encounter has straight architect Jared Padalecki saving the life of deeply closeted movie star Jensen Ackles. The unlikely couple cling to each other during what they think will be their last days on earth, but what happens to the relationship they built when the world doesn't end after all?
My comments: I really got sucked into this one. It's tender, sweet with a bit of angst and humour thrown into the mix

Title: Just So You Know (Beautiful Soul)

Summary: Jensen has been in love with Jared for years. The problem: Jared is his best friend's little brother. The solution: Jensen moves to California and writes songs for popular pop artists. Every song is about Jared. But what happens when Jensen finds himself living with Jared after six years apart? Will the balance he's found fall apart or will he finally get the one thing he's always wanted?
My comments: This one was just really, really sweet (not sickly though)

Title: Neon Showman
Author: atimi
Summary: The love story of Jared and Jensen as observed by one Chad Michael Murray. While Jared experiences a journey of self-discovery in which he realizes he's gay, lands a role on Supernatural and falls for his new co-star, Chad names his penis, chairs the Eric Brady fanclub and develops an unhealthy fascination with fraternal incest.
My comments: Hands down my favourite of these three. I was absolutely howling with laughter when I read it. Chad is such a stereotype in most J2 fics and this just takes that and injects a bit of life into it.

I feel like I'm not posting anything interesting at the moment. What the hell did I used to post about before I started reading and reccing SPN fics? Why have you not all defriended my boring ass?

I've selected the fic I'm going to remix. It's J2 (I was going to do the Jensen/Misha fic but it was seriously fucked up). Will anyone be willing to beta for me or do I need to scour the interwebs?

I can't believe I'm going to France on Saturday! How the hell did that come around so fast? Apart from Pierrefonds (did I mention that they're probably going to be filming Merlin while we're there?) and Parc Asterix it sounds like j_apollo and takadainmate have found fun and interesting things for us to do (including an erotic art museum)
