Going into hiding
May. 16th, 2008 12:28 amI'm not going to be around much this weekend. I'm visiting my parents for my dad's birthday and I really just want to take a step back from everything and relax for a couple of days.
I'm totally freaking out about the speed at which everything is happening. Dave has now been offered a job and is looking at £23-25 an hour.
It went something like this
2pm: Submit job application
2:05: Get phone call to arrange interview
4pm: Have interview
4:15: Interview ends
5pm: Job offer
I mean it's exciting, but kind of terrifying too and at the moment my brain is just having difficulty processing everything.
Also, I find it amusing that if you do what I'm doing for a clerical or admin job you're called a temp. If you're doing something technical you're an 'independant contractor' LOL!
So, that's what I'll be doing but for a long term contract (assuming they offer me a job of course). At the moment they're saying a year at minimum. I work with several contractors at the moment and they all say it's brilliant if you're single with no ties. Even if I only do it for a few years it'll allow me to pay off most of my residual student debt, buy a car and start saving a deposit so I can look into buying a house at a later date
Exiting but terrifying, like I said
So, yeah, I need to just hide for a couple of days and process everything (and I still need to watch last weeks SV and SPN before I watch the finale episodes)
Have a good weekend everyone
