12. Mr Midshipman Hornblower - CS Forester
13. Fantastic Four: Unthinkable - Mark Waid
14. Ultimate Spider-Man vol 2 - Brian Michael Bendis
15. Astonishing X-Men: Gifted - Joss Whedon
16. The Ultimates: Gods & Monsters - Mark Millar
17. Great Vampire Stories - Misc
18. My Take - Gary Barlow

23. We Need To Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver
24. Hornblower and the Hotspur - C.S. Forester
25. Mouse Guard: Fall 1152 - David Peterson
26. I Am Legend - Richard Matheson
27. Ultimate Spider-Man vol 3 - Brian Michael Bendis
28. Ultimate Spider-Man vol 4 - Brian Michael Bendis
29. Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean - Justin Somper

I have to say that once it got going I rather enjoyed Vampirates. It's obviously written for children so the style and vocabulary is quite basic but it was a good story. I might actually have to get the next one.

Next on the list is Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite. I have to say I'm rather looking forward to this. Her books had a massive impact on me when I read them several years ago but her newer stuff wasn't available in this country for ages. Lost Souls still remains one of my favourite books and if you're interested in gay vampires I highly recommend it. The author also has an LJ - [livejournal.com profile] docbrite

Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Wishes )

If you need my address leave a comment and I'll send you a screened reply :) Or you can e mail me at hils@livejournal.com

Let me know if you post this/have already posted it and give me the link so I can try and do something for you :)
