No one likes my Kara snippet :( Is it because I sort of implied Clark/Kara or was it just not good? I guess I should stick to Clex from now on *sighs*

I really want to make some black and white Smallville icons but it's hard because I love my bright, pretty colours. Would it be cheating to go back and take some of my older icons and make them B&W?

Open journal vs flocked

I'm feeling very contemplative today.

I made the decision a couple of years ago to entirely lock down my journal where previously all my entries (except some extremely personal ones) were open. It wasn't an easy decision. Quite often people from the Buffy fandom would wander over for a visit after seeing posts on their friends friends pages and some of them decided to stay. Some of you are even still here now.

I kind of miss that.

It's nice to have open discussions with people from fandom who aren't on my flist and the fact that I have had lots of comments on my mpreg poll is testament that people are interested. The irony is that the poll was made public by accident. I had intended to flock it but something went wrong.

On the opposite side of the coin of course is that if I open up my journal then anyone can see it, and this caused me problems when someone I know in RL started leaving annonymous comments in my journal. Coupled with that I'm not sure I want prospective employers (now I'm a contractor I'm going to be all over the place) seeing my fandom filled posts and that I like to read porny fics about fictional characters having gay sex.

I am opening up more of my journal. My fanfic is public (possibly unwise given the point I just made) as are my icons and now my Smallville episode reviews will be too.

Do I just take the plunge and open up all my non personal posts? It's a tricky one.

In other news my laptop has a shiny new hard drive! Just about to restore my backup and then we'll see what I have. Windows has re-installed fine from the recovery disk and that was my main concern.

I'm debating whether or not to go to aerobics tonight. Ros is away this week and whilst I have no problem going by myself I am conscious I have other stuff to do. Mum-Ra is coming to visit on Sunday so that's one less day to work on my Halloween fic. I also need to re-install all the applications onto my laptop.

I'll have some dinner and see how I feel I guess.

Just tore the flat apart looking for my copy of PSP. Seriously, I cannot imagine coping without my icon making, which is sad. LOL.

Anyway, found it now but am too late to catch the bus to aerobics so I guess that solves that one.
