Computer programmer or seriel killer

(no subject)

So not looking forward to going to work today. I'm going to be the only person in and although we're getting someone from one of our other teams to come in for a few hours to help me I've been told not to expect too much from him

Great way to end the week :(

Tonight I'm going to plug my portable hard drive into my desktop PC. If it works there then I know it's a problem with Vista. If it doesn't then I'll have to just burn the essential stuff onto DVD, wipe it and start again :(

My icons are safe at any rate. The copy of the folder I put on my C drive works now. Unfortunately my F drive crashes as soon as I open it now so I can't copy anything else out of it

Work update

Thankfully the guy helping me out today is pretty good. He's managed to sort a few of the little jobs that were annoying me and just keep things ticking over

This is good because I wound up spending most of the morning sat in our server room while an engineer tinkered with a database. I had nothing to do except supervise him and make sure he wasn't doing things he shouldn't be, so I used the time to write a load more of my CLFF fic. I'm on the final scene now so I should be able to get it typed up tomorrow \o/

Greg's having birthday drinks tonight so I shall go out for a couple.

Today I hate technology

Ok, so my hard drive works fine on my deskop PC so it's just Vista being shit. I am not amused!

Also, mine and Jacqui's joint account is down £200 and after much flailing, panicking and adding up we rang the bank who told us it was a 'technical glitch'. Either that or someone had cloned our card and withdrawn a load of money. Either way they're going to sort it

Damn, I will need that drink with Greg tonight

*bangs head on desk*

I am seriously out of ideas now.

I ran an anti-virus scan and it picked up a few Trojan Horses so I thought maybe that was why Explorer kept crashing but no it's still happening
