I should not fiddle with my tech when I've the better part of half a bottle of wine. I got home from gaming last night and decided to pause the Prison Break download and burn Life on Mars for my dad (I have a decided lack of USB cables on my desktop PC. I need to buy a hub soon I think).

Anyway, for some reason I woke up at 3:30am this morning and decided to check on the burn progress. Not only had the burning failed but when I'd been fiddling around with cables I'd unplugged the modem from my PC. D'oh!

Unfortunately, now, my PC won't recognise my DVD writer and I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Every time I plug it in it says 'this device has malfunctioned'. I've tried restarting the PC and that hasn't fixed it and I don't think the writer came with any drivers to install. I am a confused Hils and will be narked if it's just randomly broken. I can't afford a new one this month, and possibly not next month either with all the cons I'm going to. Meh.

:)

I've just got back from a lovely afternoon down the pub with a load of people from my old work. The weather is beautiful again today and it feels like Summer.

I've been drinking cocktails and cider (which is a summery drink to me) and I'm not overly drunk, just content.

I'm mostly packed ready to go to my parents and I'm going to see if I can download the Alanis version of My Humps for my ipod before I leave

My parents have wireless which is nice and handy. Means I don't have to lock myself away in the study when I want to go online. LOL.

It's going to be a peaceful few days I think. I just hope the good weather keeps up so we can take Max on lots of walks and I can take pretty photos.

I don't know why but I'm quite sleepy. Possibly something to do with all the alcohol I drank at lunchtime and the fact I had to leg it to catch my train ;)

I've brought Season 1 of Smallville with me so I can make some icons if I get bored. I've also got my fic to type up (I think that will be a job for tomorrow when I'm more awake)

Woah
