A proper post
Mar. 11th, 2006 11:32 amI'm trying to ignore my headache in the hope that it will just go away. I need to go out and get something for lunch so I can take some painkillers but that would involve moving.
So, I just wandered downstairs and saw that Champions of Norrath has arrived in the post. Bloody hell! I only ordered it yesterday lunchtime. Now that's what I call a fast service! Will go and leave a A+++++ review at ebay ;)
So, on to last night and what I can remember of it. LOL. We had a lovely civilised meal with candles on the table and ambient background music. We chatted away and it was when we were on our second drink of the evening that we discovered my wine glasses are deceptively evil. They look pretty small but we were going through a whole bottle just to fill 4 of them. So, by the time we started playing LotR Trivial Pursuit we'd gone through 4 bottles of wine. Yes, that's a bottle of wine each. We were all pretty drunk but we still attempted to play the game. I was winning with 3 wedges and Jacqui was helping Amanda so we decided to team up. Me and Greg vs Jacqui and Amanda. There was then some discussion about whether I should keep my wedges or if we should start again and I should lose them all. While that was being discussed Greg and I went to our local shop for more wine. Eep! I had a cigarette on the way (a good inidication I'm drunk as I don't smoke under any other circumstances)
When we got back it was decided to give up on the game and watch the film instead. Don't remember much about it at all. I remember seeing Bruce Campbell and I remember observing there was a girl who reminded me of Daphne from Scooby Doo. Amanda fell asleep so we gave up on the film too. Greg and I went out for another smoke. Something a bit more herbal this time ;) We sat down on our neighbours chairs (since they loiter outside our house all the time I though we should repay the favour) and Greg and I just smoked and chatted for a while. Can't remember what about at all. Mostly work stuff I think.
Then Amanda woke up and it was decided to call it a night. They left and Jacqui and I went to bed. I vaguely remember getting up to be sick. Don't remember going back to bed. Woke up my my alarm for work went off. Turned it off and went back to sleep. LOL. It's a good job I warned the other guy from our office there was a chance I wouldn't make it in. I did try and phone him but he didn't answer.
So that brings us to now. I've got icons to make, games to play and a whole stack of dishes to watch. I don't want to move though. My leather chair is nice and comfy. Ooh, it was the BSG finale last night. Must fine a torrent
Also, my MSN messenger doesn't appear to be working *pout*

Mar. 11th, 2006 12:18 pmI'm ashamed to have to ask this

Which character is this? Is it Jason Locke? It's one of the pics from
bean_stillness. I asked on the comm but haven't had a response and I need to know before I add text to the icon
I am a Bean fan. Honest!

Just found out that my aunt has died. I only met her once, at her wedding to my uncle but it's still a bit of a shock. She was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in January and she died yesterday. I think my uncle is still in shock and my mum is really upset
On top of that my dad severely burned his leg and foot a couple of days ago and is probably going to have a skin graft to sort it out
It's been a bad week for my poor mum :( I offered to go back and stay with them for a few days but she said she's ok. Dad can't go to the funeral but my uncle only has enough room in his house for my mum anyway so she's going on her own.
It's all a bit shit really. I might go back and see them next weekend
