God, I had some really fucking horrible nightmares last night. First one I had cancer and all my hair was falling out.

Then I dreamt I was at an official function and I accidently bumped into this one man. He turns around and tells me he's going to issue a death warrant for me, his whole country will be hunting for me and won't stop and until I'm dead. He added that within a year my place of work will have been bombed into the ground

[livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw and I are writing an article on fanfiction in the Buffyverse. We're not 100% sure what angle we're going to take yet but we'd be grateful if you could take a few minutes to answer these questions. If you want to post them in your own LJ and link it back to here then feel free

Do you read fanfiction?
What drew you in?
What genres of fic do you enjoy?
Do you read only specific pairings?
Do you read Canon/AU/Slash? Why?
Why do you think fanfiction is so popular?
What is the attraction to slash (if applicable)

1. What scene in which movie is guaranteed to make you cry?

This is where you all lynch me. Titanic, the final scene where Rose is back on board the ship with all the people who died and she is reunited with Jack *ducks*

2. What scene in which television show makes you tear up no matter how many times you've seen it?

Touched. Spike's speech about Buffy being the one.

3. Is there any famous tear jerker of a scene that leaves you cold? Or worse, makes you laugh?

Trinity's death in Matrix: Revolutions. Felt NOTHING

4. Do you cry when a character on screen cries, or is it something else that gets the tears flowing?

Quite often it's intensely happy things rather than sad ones that make me cry

5. One fic that makes you cry.

Had to post this dream that [livejournal.com profile] soley had. Makes my nightmares seem all better. I should point out I'd never even HEARD of her until I got this comment in my LJ. It just made it even funnier to me

Soley: Hi there. Sorry about your nightmares. It might cheer you up that I had a dream featuring you and James Marsters, Andy Hallett and the Groosalugg (do you write it like that? Never can remember) and several other lj-users.
Of course then I had to go and see if these Lj-names really existed and lo! there you are.

Sadly there was no sex.

Hils: Hehe. Did we meet at the Tampa Vulkon convention or is it all a scary coincidence?

Soley: Seeing how I´ve never been to Tampa that would be the latter. Although I think I have it figured out now. I´ve probably seen your username somewhere, [livejournal.com profile] buffy_icons maybe? Or someones friends-list. And then my subconscious decided to use you as a mayor player in my dream.

I must say that dream-you is very intelligent, articulate and a great dancer. The Groosalugg was totally infatuated with you and kept sending you this goofy smiles. Oh, and you were trying to teach James to dance but he kept stepping on your toes.

It was strange but also kind of funny

Stupid nightmares have left me exhausted so I'm having an early night. Hopefully I'll sleep well this time. I've done nothing remotely productive this evening
