I've been hearing vague rumours about the funding for Venetian Heat being withdrawn so it's not being made anymore. Anyone else heard anything like this or know more details?

Well, my weekend has certainly been interesting. I went down to visit my friend Ros and quite frankly I got scared.

Now, I've known Ros for about five years. We were at university together and we shared a house for a year. The thing is with Ros, she likes to get her own way. Part of this comes from the fact that she was involved in a very serious car accident when she was 12 which nearly killed her. I don't know for sure but I'm guessing after that her parents gave her pretty much whatever she wanted which I suppose is understandable.

I can't really explain why it still happens with her friends. She's a very forceful character I suppose and can throw one hell of a strop if she doesn't get her way. It's never really bothered me before since we like doing the same things so her getting her way isn't really an issue

What bothered me this weekend was the way she is with her boyfriend. Over the last month or so we've been having an ongoing discussion in our office about oppressive girlfriends. One of Greg's housemates is being walked all over by his girlfriend to the extent that she's practically moved into his house and won't let him spend any time with his friends. To a lesser extent Tom is in the same situation. Bec doesn't like any of his friends, doesn't like him spending time with them and gets pissed off if he doesn't speak on the phone to her every night for at least an hour. People have spoken to him about it but he's fully aware that he's under the thumb and just chooses not to do anything about it. Most of the time it doesn't bother me but when she starts bollocking him because our house isn't tidy enough for her I get angry.

So needless to say I was less than impressed when I saw that Ros has turned into a Bec. She hates all his friends, doesn't like him going out without her, forced him to quite smoking, forced him to cut down on his drinking and bollocks him if he gets drunk. We were out on Friday night and she sent him a text telling him to come and meet us. He replied saying he was out with his friends but that we could join them if we wanted. She then phoned him, yelled and swore at him so much he hung up on her, phoned him again and yelled and swore at him for hanging up on her until eventually he ditched his friends and joined us.

The next day he sent her a message saying he was having to do some serious grovelling for ditching his friends. She replied saying she didn't give a shit and the whole day was spent with them sending text messages back and forth. I really didn't know what to say. The words 'stop being such a bitch' sprung to mind. I did eventually tentively say that she was being a bit hard on him but she said she didn't care. What more can you do. Decided to avoid the issue after that. Not really much I can say. She pretty much told me she was only with him for the sex. They have nothing in common at all. It's very bizarre.

But other than that the weekend was ok. Saw some lovely, pretty villages in Suffolk and I went shopping in Colchester. Not the nicest of towns but I bought He-Man on DVD. All my friends think I'm a nutter but I loved He-Man as a kid and it still amuses me now.

That's pretty much it from me and I really should go to bed. Nighty

My throat hurts. I hope I'm not getting ill. Wouldn't surprise me though. I've been super-busy for the last month and a half. Probably running myself down.
