Ok,
mrthursday has challenged me to write a defence for my Season choices. I should add at this point that my opinion of Season 7 is based up until Get It Done. Obviously the entire thing might crash and burn in the last few episodes.
So anyway, here we go.
Season 7 - Tight storyline, good character development. Everyone is really coming into their own this Season and I love the way that they're looking at what it really means to be a Slayer. Buffy herself is finally realising that she can stand on her own.
Season 2 - Back in the days when the jokes were witty and the characters were really starting to develop. The twist with Angel losing his soul really threw me and I still bawl my eyes out at the end when she has to send him to hell.
Season 5 - Ok, I admit it. I threw this in for the Spuffyness. Although I became a Spuffer in Season 4, 5 is where they really started to develop it. Plus Riley left which is a thing to be rejoiced. And of course there's the beautiful final episode which I never get tired of watching.
Season 3 - There is a chance I might rate this higher than 5 if I watch it again. To be honest I just didn't like the way they dealt with Angel's return from hell. Of course there are some brilliant episodes in this one, and Faith was kind of cool. Really threw me when she turned rogue. And The Mayer was a kind of cool Big Bad. Probably my second fave after Angelus.
Season 6 - I still maintain with what I said when I first saw this Season. Each episode on its own was fine. I can't think of one I didn't enjoy (except maybe Seeing Red but I see why it was needed). But there was no real overall plot to this other than character development. Whilst this is needed, I kind of like a decent story to carry it along too.
Season 1 - Ah, the good old days. I do have a soft spot for Season 1 despite where I placed it. But overall it's a little too basic for me.
Season 4 - Riley. Bad. The Initiative. Good concept but didn't really work. Adam. Crap! And two more words which sum up why this season sucked the most. Beer Bad!
