SQUEE!!!!

Birthday weekend has been FUN! Not only did I have a great time with padfoot_uk and ballistichimp but I also had a surprise visit from flickums. We played Tekken 4 and DOA 2 and Flick kicked all our asses.

So, now that the birthday is over may I present my gift list (although some of it is yet to arrive)

I also treated myself to some now clothes. 2 long velvet skirts, one black and one purple and 2 tops. One black and Red, the other black and purple.

I had such a fun weekend and my writing course starts tomorrow. I FEEL HAPPY!

Weekend Write-Up

Having been shamed by Sarah's write-up of the weekend I have decided to expand on my earlier entry and waffle on for a bit about stuff. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin

Friday - Had to go to work. Meh! Can't really remember much about it but have a vague feeling I did nothing as is the way of Friday's. Came home and tidied the house for a bit before settling down to play Kengo until Sarah arrived.

7pm - Get a text message from Sarah announcing her departure and am given an eta of about 8pm. Resume training my Samurai.

8pm - Phone rings. "Help, I'm lost." After much bumbling directions from me, Sarah finally made it to my house and there was much rejoicing. We ordered pizza, bought wine and watched Bill Bailey. Tom was vastly amused. Sarah was then amused my Tom's book of silly lists (including such joys as 10 plants you'd never want to meet down a dark alley and 10 things the Queen would never do). At about 2:30 we all trundled off to bed

Saturday - Woke up with my annoying alarm. I really should get one that doesn't play You Are My Sunshine. Showers were had, tea was drunk and then it was time to go to the station to meet Ben. Handily we arrived the same time as him (how handy!). Hug were exchanged all round (nearly hugged Sarah just for the hell of it) and then we went back to my humble abode for yet more tea. Tom met Ben, Ben met Tom and Sarah and I were witness to some bizarre male bonding session.

Finally we decided to head into town. It's amazing how much more you appreciate your home when you're showing other people around. I took Sarah and Ben into a load of my old haunts and some of my new ones. The Goth shop, Classix seemed to be a big hit all round and we all left with something. Srah bought a VERY sexy top and a skirt. I bought a new skirt and a not so sexy top and Ben bought a new bandana.

Went to my local milkshake place and introduced Ben and Sarah to the most divine milkshakes ever created by the hand of man. We then went to Game where Sarah bought be Shadow Hearts for my birthday (Thank you Grebs, am addicted already). Managed to resist buying Tekken 4 and GTA 3

HMV came next and alas I caved and left with 3 DVDs. Each one so vastly different I'm amazed the bloke at the till didn't stare at me. I bought Bill Bailey (his standup show on DVD, not the man), Crying Freeman and Never Been Kissed. What can I say, I'm odd

Took Sarah and Ben to another goth shop and although we all drooled over the nice clothes none of us bought anything. We snickered at the teeny-goths
and then headed to York Minster. Haven't been inside for a very long time. It used to be like a safe haven for me when I wanted to get away from the world. Being in it again just felt odd.

Ben found out he got his job and to celebrate we went to the pub for a few drinks. We all pissed about on the Hangman machine, but didn't win anything. It was then time to head to Old Orleans

Had a LOVELY meal and yummy cocktails too. As always felt the urge to go to New Orleans. Then, once we were f'llup we rolled home, stopping into a off liscence on the way. As we calmly perused the selection of wines, we were suddenly faced with a very excited man behind the counter who was determined to sell us Hemp Vodka. He wouldn't take no for an answer so in the end Sarah and I bought a bottle between us. For those of you who are curious the only way we could describe the taste was 'green'. Tasted a bit like Tequila to me.

With drinks in hand we plated Tekken 4 and laughed are asses off at Yoshimitu's butt crawl. We then played GTA 3 and were horrified and amused at the same time. Ben and Tom started talking in male code again while Sarah and I merrily drove around just randomly destroying things.

It was then time for Bill Bailey to come on again. Alas I fell aslepp about 20 minutes into it but thankfully woke up in time to hear The Magic Roundabout and the Chaucer pub joke.

Once Bill was over and we did the obligitary repeats of our fave songs, we fired up Shadow Hearts. Spent a few minutes trying to figure out what to do but we soon got into it. Here was where the addiction started. Everyone else went to bed, leaving me alone with my new toy. I played it until about 2:30 before realising I was going to have to start again in the morning anyway in order to name the characters what I wanted. Finally gave up and went to sleep

Sunday - Woke up before everyone else and as soon as I was bathroomed and dressed I fired up SH again and began to play (Did I mention I was addicted?) Paused briefly to wake Sarah and Ben up before continuing play until Flick arrived.

We played Kengo and Tom was delighted to beat us all.

We ordered pizza and Ben and Tom went back into male code again (Jane, the Claw). We then played Tekken 4 and Flick whooped us all. We played DOA 2 and Flick whooped us all. Then, in a fit of something I fired up SH again. Paused breifly to say goodbye to Sarah, Ben and Flickums before playing for about another 2 and a half hours before Tom kicked me off so he could watch Enterprise.

Trundled up to my room and started on a fic. Wrote one paragrah and got bored so decided to catch up on my fic reading. Found a couple of good ones which made me happy and that brings me up to now.

YAY!!! I had fun. Sarah nice. Ben nice. Flick nice. Tom nice. WHEEEE
