What a bloody carry on we've had at work today. 5 weeks after offered a permanent job at the place I'm at I finally got my contract to sgn today. It was then that me and a few others realised we were going to be paid £500 a year LESS than we're on as temps.
Thankfully the management were really supportive. First of all they suggested that we write to personnel telling them we've got over a year's experience in the job already and that treating us like newbie's who would need training wasn't fair.
Next thing we know we're getting accused of blackmailing the company into giving us more money. Management went beserk, having been told just a few days ago that we could put forward our case if we all wrote to them. Now a big meeting has been scheduled on Monday with all the big bosses to discuss whether we get the extra money or not. We have all the department managers and the head of our section on our side but we'll have to wait and see what the outcome is.
