Hee!

I'm hoping further Twilight mocking isn't going to get me defriended by anyone else but I can't help myself

This post, especially the comments, cracked me up

Selected highlights:

Twilight killed Captain America. :(
Posted by: Bucky

Josh: [ about the President] How's he doing in there?
Toby: He's got that look on his face like he's thinking of ways of killing himself.
-(Bartlet upon reading Twilight.)

I read Twilight over Sam's crib.

Please, mock away! I detest all the Twilight hype almost as much as I detest HP fandom. ;)

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe! I'm pretty much indifferent to HP but I hate Twlight a surprising amount considering I've only read snippets

[identity profile] bittermint.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only read the first book, and that was more than enough. It makes me uncomfortable when I'm reading something and I get the feeling I'm learning more about the author's personal kinks than the characters. That's probably why a lot of fanfic squicks me these days.

Also, I have an instinctive knee-jerk aversion to anything that's hyped as much as the Twilight books are.

Oh, yeah, I have the same reaction to the Anita Blake books

[identity profile] bittermint.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Laurel Hamilton's preoccupation with knives and firearms makes me shudder.

And her obession with orgies with animals is quite disturbing

[identity profile] bittermint.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I never got that far in the series, thank gawd.

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish I hadn't

People unfriended you over mocking twilight? D:

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I did a fairly harmless post asking what Twlight was all about and got defriended by this overly senstive girl who though I was dissing her fandom

Go ahead, mock Twilight. People who think Twilight is more realistic than Harry Potter don't deserve better. *lol*

Besides, twinkling vampires are meant to be mocked!

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Yes, they do *g*
ext_3952: (Spike - real vamps)

[identity profile] duskwillow.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I spend an hour few days ago LMAO reading all the replies there.

I can't believe bloody sparkly vamps had an opening weekend worth 37 million $, and they just announced the second movie.
The madness will never end!

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! Seriously. No.

[identity profile] lux-astraea.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*snerk* Mock away ... I'll be going to see it eventually, i know that much. RPattz... *G*

another:

If I did it, Twilight would've been the reason why.

Hee!! OMG! I love it!

Personally, I liked:

Twilight was the inspiration for my MASTER RACE.
Posted by: Adolf Hitler

I admit, I read and enjoyed the books, in complete understanding that it was a teen fiction book. But I pretty much love making fun of anything, so this post didn't offend me. ;)

Hee! I nearly posted the Hitler one but I thought some people might not see the funny side

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*cries laughing*

I've been reading the comments--priceless!

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-22 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I keep going back to it. I can't stop laughing

[identity profile] just-sue.livejournal.com 2008-11-23 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Mock away!

I am happy to be a Twilight fan (though not part of the fandom which I find quite rabid!) and having only watched one HP film and never having turned a page of HP books, I really can't compare. Roll on the release of the film over here next month! Sparkly! LOL

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-23 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
Hee!

[identity profile] lexalicious70.livejournal.com 2008-11-23 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"I find your lack of plot disturbing."

*Falls out of chair, laughing*

My mom is all into this now. It's the biggest literary difference of opinion we've had since she went all fangirl for Harry Potter.

If I want angsty vampires, I have Spike and Angel, thank you. *Hugs my pretty vampy boys*

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-11-23 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Yes. I'll even take Anne Rice's emo vampires over Twilight
