Fracture

Yes, I'm talking about it again but I'm not ranting, I promise. I'm just musing over something that I may or may not include in my missing scene snippet and I could use some input

Assuming for a moment that the writers don't forget that this episode ever happened what do you think will happen next?

Clark made Alexander promise that they would see each other again but if that is the case how do you think it will manifest itself? I read a fic yesterday where whenever Lex gets drunk it allows Alexander to come out. Do you think that's the only way it could happen?

I'd be curious to know what you think. Please bear in mind I don't read spoilers and I don't even get to see the episode previews so if you know something please don't tell me. I'm just speculating here.

It depends on how we're envisioning Alexander. Is he an alternate personality or merely a facet of the whole? An easy way, of course, would be Black K. I think also that J'onn J'onzz could make it happen (he can do that mental stuff). Or you could go cheap and have Lex get wonked on the head, and Alexander comes to instead of his whole personality. Or... magic.

I was wondering if when Chloe healed Lex, she could have healed the scarring caused by the ECT as well as everything else, and put Lex in a position where Alexander could more easily come out.

Yeah, I think all of those things would require a much longer, drawn out storyline which this isn't.

Shall scrap that idea I think and just have Clark brood some more ;)

Yeah, he's good at that!

I haven't been spoiled either, so whatever I say means absolutely ZERO, haha!

Firstly, I'm so sorry you didn't love the eppy. I thought it was masterful.

Secondly, if you're expecting Alexander to win the battle, it's not gonna happen. Lex becomes the villain. Just because Clark said he'd see Alexander again, that doesn't mean that it'll happen. Clark's made other promises before that he's broken. :(

For all we know, they'll forget this eppy was ever written and all we'll have is this beautiful futurecon about why Superman never kills Lex Luthor and gets it over with.

In SV, I think they'll keep having Lex do OCC atrocities (like killing Nulian--Lex had never killed anyone who had walked out on him before)and I'm *hoping* he will kill Lionel until this season ends. He practically HAS to. Lionel killed his own parents and was (along with Lillian) a monster who tried again and again to beat the goodness out of Lex. He needs to die. As a future villain, Lex needs to be the one who does it.

Also, I wrote something you might like to read, cause I mentioned you:

Oh, I know Alexander won't win the battle. It's just for my fic. I wanted them to have a moment, but I've scrapped that idea (sort of) and have gone in another direction with it

To me, the point Caroline Dries was making is that the door to Lex's redemption will never be closed. At some future post-SV point, he can win the battle and redemption. (Just as JusticeLeague!Lex goes out on a redemptive note, sacrificing himself to save the world.)

Aww!!! I know he won't in SV canon but I would love it if he did

I think "Alexander" is quite close to the surface of Lex's mind. At the end, Lex does a tiny double take when Clark quotes Alexander: "there's nothing lost that can't be found again." If that sentiment was buried deep in Lex's sub-conscious, I don't think he would have recognized it and been puzzled by Clark "quoting" him.

Also, Lex is touching his St George box when Clark comes in, which seems to telegraph a conscious desire to re-connect with Clark.

OOH, I didn't notice the thing with the box. Interesting...

I thought Lana had the box. He got it in the divorce?

The talk of magic gave me a kind of an idea. Zantana (sp?) did the mind whammy on Selina Kyle, making her forget all the bad girl things she did. I wonder if she could whammy Lex.

OOH! Zatana is awesome!
