It is not THE hat, though it is quite similar and I bet they picked it out because they're so used to seeing Tom in The Hat.

God, LEX in this episode. It was just BRILLIANT watching that scene over and over where insane!Clark and disabled!Lex interact. Clark really does come off batshit in that scene, and SMUGLY righteous, too.

I thought for sure, with this episode, Clark had realized that what he was envisioning of Lana was not real or healthy and he had come to terms with not being with her. And THEN...
