I was nearly there

I was going to sign up for the Merlin Secret Santa challenge but they're imposing a 3000 word minimum on fics and that's quite a lot for a fandom I'm new to so I decided not to bother

3000? They're asking a bit much for a ficathon!

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I thought that. Especially in such a new fandom too

I just makes me think of the Dark Angel one I did, they were happy with 100 words (just as well)!

I could probably manage more than that but even my Smallville fics these days barely scrape the 2000 word mark

Whoa, that's a lot! 1000 words I could see, but not 3000.

[identity profile] hils.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I could easily manage 1000

That's 30 drabbles!

If I break a thousand, I shock myself.

Heh! These days I seem to be averaging at about 2000

3,000 words is a lot for any fandom. Most challenges start at 1,000. Maybe they're trying to encourage people to write plots.

Hehe! Plots are for losers ;)
