Smallville

Ok, can someone explain what the point of this episode actually was? Because, really. NOTHING HAPPENED!!!

I mean Oliver showed up and was all cool. They introduced Black Canary, which was cute, but what else?

Lana was in glasses for NO REASON!!!

Lois, and in fact no one but Lionel seemed to care about the brutal murder of poor Grant/Julian. I really expected more to be made of that.

Lois apparently can't handle dating someone with a double life which seems to send her further away from Clark. Although the hug at the end was cute. I don't get what the point of it was though. I liked the reference to the first Superman movie though

And what was with that Clana scene at the end. Lana says she's committed to her relationship with Clark. Clark says he isn't and that he doesn't know what their future is. I rejoice with the thought that he is FINALLY going to break up with her. THEN he says he's not ready to give up on them. WHAT???!!

Seriously, this has to be the most pointless episode ever.

Edit: Actually, there was one very important point to this episode. Lex with two guns = hottest thing EVER!!!!

Edit (again): I know I said this last week but I seriously have no idea what to write for my snippet for this. It has left me just feeling totally blank.

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention but it wasn't clear that no one knows about Grant, right?

No, I only know that because Erica told Craig Byrne that when he was interviewing her for the S7 companion book. He posted about it on TWoP, and Elly cross-posted it to her journal, which is where I read it. And knowing this show, they'll probably never mention Grant again. :P

Why does he want that after saying just moments before that he's not committed to their relationship.

Because AlMiles mansions aren't pad for yet? :) Seriously, I think they're afraid to end the Clana, because what else is holding Clark back from accepting his destiny and fully becoming Superman? And if that happens the cash cow show is over. Nothing about them being together makes any sense anymore.

I will be beyond pissed if Lana is the one who ends it and forces Clark to become Superman.

OMG, so much word to that!!!

I don't see how Lois saying no to Oliver means Clois will happen.

Yeah, me neither, but some people are seeing it as the same kind of ironic anvil as when Clark said about his future career choice in Hug, "Just as long as it doesn't involve putting on a suit and doing a lot of flying." I don't think what Lois said was like that, though, it was too self-aware and heartfelt for that. As you say, we shall see.

Isn't that cap awesome? It's my new desktop.

Yeah, I don't think there was any irony in what Lois said. That was a genuine speech. I mean, it's possible something will happen later to make her change her mind but I really don't see why it was needed in this episode
