I haven't been there for a while but I still have a wonderful pair of purple cords that I bought last time I visited. I have a lot of happy memories, mostly of Derek and Matthew getting scared and hiding in Costa while I did my shopping

I have to leave in a couple of hours to go to Luton for this work thing tomorrow. I really don't want to go. I mean, I love going away places, but I like it to be my choice and because I'm doing something fun rather than a load of team-building crap

In other news I think I want to copy herohunter and make a header of Lex looking awesome. After I my rant about spoilers, though, I want to check whether anyone objects to me using a screencap from Siren for my header. It's not hugely spoilery but I thought I should check first.

Wow, I'm full of introspective stuff at the moment.

I've just been filling in a Smallville friending meme and the usual question of 'other fandoms' came up and suddenly I was stuck. See, generally I just list all the shows I watch but are they really my fandoms? I mean I like these shows, post a mini-review after I've watched it but that's as far as it goes really. Is that what fandom is? Or is it something you more actively participate in?

If you're taking it further I suppose my fandoms are Buffy, Angel, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Lost and Smallville. Those are the shows/films I have made icons about or written fanfic for

Well, it was a relatively simple driving experience. We got a little lost in Luton but I blame that on Dave's inability to read road signs rather than my inability to navigate

The hotel is crap and the girl behind the desk useless. I tried to explain to her that the room and meals have been paid for by my work, and I showed her the receipt I had e-mailed to me. She still seemed confused and said she'd have to talk to the manager. She's going to be in for a shock if she thinks I'm paying £250 for 2 nights in this craphole! LOL!

Thankfully I DO have internet access so I'm not going to go totally insane while I'm stuck here.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to not have to work, and still have enough money to do stuff. LOL.

I wish I had more time to read books but with everything else I do I can only manage a chapter or so a night. I have about 20 books on my 'to read' pile and woman_of_ has just recommended a few more.

I miss my student days when all my free time was spent reading. Of course this was back before I discovered fandom. It's amazing how much time fannish activities take up. LOL

I'm going to bed now and after I've read my book I'm going to see if I can come up with an idea for my Siren snippet. I'm still drawing a total blank :(
