I saw this super long post and thought, "Ohhh it's late, perhaps I'll read this tomorrow..." but of course then I read it anyway. XD Every fandom person knows this experience. 'Oh, I'll just read the first chapter' and then suddenly it's 3am :D
I've also met friends through it that are still very dear to me, like you did. (even the name drbillbongo seems familiar, though I'm sure he wasn't on my flist) He's also German but sadly did not migrate to DW
She's moved on a bit and is now actually totally into BTS, which I just.... can't get into. XD I enjoy listening to some CPop/KPop, but mostly because it's related to cdramas, Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Haha! Yeah, I was aware of kpop before CQL but I gave it another try because I wanted to listen to some UNIQ. That was what finally did it for me. BTS, unfortunately like Supernatural, has a very toxic fanbase. I don't mind their music but I steer clear of any sort of fandom involvement
