Huh

Apparently I cannot switch off tech support mode. Was just in my local stationary shop buying a nice pen (for fic writing) and there was a lady in front of me asking about printers. The girl behind the counter seemed pretty clueless so I spent about 10 mins chatting to the lady about different options.

Felt good about it afterwards so it must have clocked me some karma points. LOL!

Aw, that's quite sweet :) Definite good karma there!

Those pens run out already?

People know the look of a geek. I was in John Lewis poking a laptop with my finger, as you do, minding my own business, when this woman came up to me and asked me loads of questions about what to buy (and she knew I wasn't staff).

Heh, I can't either. Have you ever tried figuring out why a friend's computer did *this* after only being told it was on a different OS to what you're using halfway through the conversation when you specifically asked because said friend isn't particularly technical - all this over MSN while watching that battery life of your brother's laptop slowly die?

It's...interesting. I'll give it that..or being called up randomly with the phrase, "help! my internet's not working!"

*sigh* Should I get a laptop?

*realises she's gone off topic again*

Anyway..geeking out on people is fun. I had a nice talk with a guy in a store about cameras a few weeks ago..
