I've been beta testing it too, and I like it. Especially as you can hide sections of it to just leave specific bits and pieces. That's the best part IMO.

People don't like having things done to them without their permission. It's quite shocking when you go to bed with something one way and you wake up and someone changed it. You feel jerked around and manipulated, even if later you either come to like it or just adjust to it.

Well, personally I find it ugly, but that might just be the fact that I am so used to the old profile page. Maybe it'll grow on me, I don't know.

What annoys me, though, is the news post they announced it in. First they talk about how they are going to make new features opt-in, because people complain - and oh, by the way, here is a new profile page that you can't even opt out of. Kind of a mixed message.

Wow, I didn't even know it had changed. Dunno whether I like it or not... I mean, I don't dislike it... bit random that they didn't tell anyone it would be changing tho.

I used it for a while, but it prevented me from downloading my entries. I'm not sure why, but it seemed to interfere with my lj add on. Hopefully they fixed that.

I like that the info I use all the time is at the top (I'm nosy about newcomers to my flist and the people who comment). The rest I don't care about one way or another. I'm used to software changing underneath me - used to be part of my job. :-D

My main complaint about it is that if you have long lists of interests or friends they're all really cramped together and so much harder to read than before. Blech. And so much for being able to opt out of stuff.

Personally I like it. I changed over about a month ago, and prefer it... loots better and makes it easier to find memories faster etc.

I see from the comments though - and a couple of posts elsewhere on the flist - that LJ have switched everyone over without informing them? Although... wasn't it on one of the 'news' messages a while back? *shrug*

Yeah, it's OK except my website merges into my schools but that's probably the ad squishing it together.

I don't like it because the section breaks mean I have all this extra white space where it isn't needed, and I actually have to scroll down quite a bit now, where before I didn't have to.

Ignoring even that, though - I find it incredibly unsettling that LJ was ignoring people's comments. A handful of people were having trouble with their HTML after the change, and LJ went and fixed it - which means they were reading comments, they just were ignoring ones that had any opinion at all. People don't think of it that way, but Livejournal does have customers, and that is extremely poor customer service.

I'm not really sure I like it yet, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. I'm just glad it doesn't mess up my bio formatting. :)

I'm glad I checked out the beta testing a few days ago, I didn't leave it turned on, but if I hadn't looked at it at all the shock would have really thrown me. I almost never use the profile page though, so I don't see it as a huge thing. People are silly.
