Ok, Clark taking the job at The Daily Planet actually made me cry because I am a big freak. Why didn't he do this ages ago??! I've waited so long for him to get to the point where he's ready to move on from life on the farm

*clings and bawls* My boy is all growed up and on his way to being Superman

I loved him putting on his red jacket in place of the cape, and all the little comments about having a double life

I liked the rest of the episode too but that definitely made it for me

I could have done without the Chimmy and why is Chloe turning into a Mary-Sue meteor freak with her multiple powers? Unless her healing power has gone? I just assumed it didn't work on Clark because he's an alien

Tess I can take or leave at the moment but mostly because all she did in this episode was talk about Lex. Maybe when she gets her own personality it will be better

And of course I loved Ollie and Clark wrestling *g*

Is it bad that I didn't really miss Lex? Maybe because they just totally shit on his character last season. I'd rather not have him in it at all than have more of that.

Damn you Smallville for sucking me back in!

I could do you one - but I think you seemed happy enough with the episode as it was...

Of course, all that stuff with... *strangles self*

Hehe! Yeah, I was happy, which is weird because Smallville hasn't made me happy for a long time

I've enjoyed most of it (last season that is), but I kind of appreciated some of the stuff they were trying to do, and it fired my imagination off quite a bit. Plus I've no real investment in the slash or fic side of things (mostly), but I have to admit, this was the best episode for a while.

It had everything, everything anyone could want. Clarke reduced to being human, and still wanting to be the hero (this is important as there are times when Superman's powers aren't enough - and if being the hero were all about being some demi-god... he wouldn't be the hero we all know and love), Ollie going at Clark, both as an escape attempt, and while under mind control, rocked. Seeing most of the Justice team together (just a shame they couldn't get Victor and Bart in there - but they were mentioned), the start of Clark/Lois - there were plenty of hints dropped about their feelings, but happily they're both in denial, and they both hide any feelings for t'other beneath a veneer of mild hostility and sarcasm. Ollie said it best when he said:
"Oh, don't worry about it, Clark. If I lived under the same roof with such a beautiful woman, I probably would've mask my feelings in sarcasm, too."

And of course Martha uttered an important line back in Season 6: "All those things have shaped the person you are now... and the person you'll become."

This season in theory should be the most exciting since Clark discovered his origins. This is Clark becoming the person he should become.

Whee!!! *claps*

I think the one thing that didn't sit quite right with me was the whole 'Oh, when Jor-El talked about someone controlling me he just meant removing my powers'

Is it me or does that make no sense? LOL!

Besides, Jor-El has removed his powers before so it's not like we're into anything new here.

Wow, if Lex was still around he'd be disappointed

Loved Ollie's comment about Lex and the Clarkbot though. LOL!
