Not sad - a huge chunk of the world is like that. Just something something I'm always curious about because I enjoy long-winded philosophical discussions... and the history of someone's spirituality is an interesting journey. :)
I was raised Unitarian Universalist, and while it is technically a religion, it's also a way of life. (Which applies to most religions, I suppose, but more so to UUism.) 'Deeds not creeds' - it's what you do with your life that's important; not what you believe in. I'm pretty damned open-minded, and I love getting my very very Christian friend in the same room as my very very Jewish friend and starting a conversation about God (or lack of): it definitely makes for an interesting afternoon. :-D Does that make me twisted? XD
