The girl next door just came around and asked about the internet. She offered to give me some money because her AND the guy upstairs have been using my connection and want to continue doing so!!!!

I politely told her to go away.

Was it not locked before? Just out of curiosity. Oh, I've had neihbors who actually came and asked if they could use my connection in the evenings for free. YES, they asked that. The guy was like, I need to be able to play this RPG online and I don't have the money for internet. Since I'm sure you don't use it at night, can I? I was like, um I use my internet constantly, so NO. People are SO rude.

No, it wasn't locked before because I didn't know how to do it. It was only last night when I caught someone outside using it yesterday that I decided to take action. I bet she wouldn't have come over tonight if I hadn't just locked it.

You caught them outside? Were they lurking on their laptops outside your front door?

Crys and I have discussed this in terms of our own wireless connection. We have OAP ladies on both sides and don't think either is likely to be internet-savvy.

Of course, someone could park outside the house and use the connection though it would be a little suspicious. Maybe locking down the router would be a good idea after this cautionary tale.

My friend Greg caught someone in a van outside his place using a laptop so I'd advise anyone to password protect their connection
