So [livejournal.com profile] moondropz very kindly e mailed this photo from the Misha meet and greet at Chicon. She's asked me to flock it so please respect her wishes and don't post it elsewhere

Remember when I said I did bunny ears behind Misha's head? )

Before I post my Chicago pics I have to share this which [livejournal.com profile] tasabian found yesterday. Oh, how things change. LOL. It was only a year and half ago but to be fair it was pre-AHBL1 which was where I converted to Misha.

Right, Chicago

In which we cram a lot into one day )

Now we get onto the sight-seeing part of my trip pre-Wincon

Chicago at night )

So, I suppose it's time I started writing up my adventures, yes? I'm holding off on the convention stuff until I get home so I can scan in my photo ops and include those too. But I can at least cover the pre-con hijinks while I have a quiet moment.

In which I eat epic pizza, explore Chicago and do stuff I wrote about in my fic )

So [livejournal.com profile] spnpermanon has been deleted. I know some of you used to frequent there a lot (hell, I used to spend a lot of time lurking there myself) but in all honesty from my perspective I consider this a good thing. For all the lulz there was an equal amount of bitching and wank-baiting and that's not what fandom is about.

In other news [livejournal.com profile] wincon is over. I had an absolute blast but at the same time I have learned that doing two cons consecutively is stupid. I managed fine when I did Polaris immediately followed by Vulkon Tampa back in 2003 but I am older and less sturdy now. I think part of it is because I'm sick but I have spent the last couple of days just feeling exhausted which meant I didn't enjoy things as much as I could.

It was fun though and I made loads of new friends. Totally missed talking to [livejournal.com profile] longsufferingly who I think is the only flistie I didn't get to talk to. Everyone was really friendly and awesome and I'm thrilled I finally got to meet [livejournal.com profile] vichan in person.

Initially the plan was that [livejournal.com profile] sinnerforhire and I would spend the next couple of days sightseeing in Chicago but we didn't realise how far out of town this hotel is. It's not really near anything which makes getting anywhere pretty impossible without a car (or a really expensive cab ride) so we're just going to hang out here. The hotel has a hot tub and a pool, and is right next to a mall for cheap eating. Honestly, I'm kind of looking forward to a couple of days of doing nothing before I fly home.

I can catch up on my DCBB reading if nothing else *g*

Finally met up with [livejournal.com profile] elizah_jane so I think I've met everyone from my flist who is at Wincon now.

Went to a really great panel on modding fic exchanges and challenges today and got some good tips from [livejournal.com profile] wendy about things I can do with [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang next year.

Winprom tonight but first we're heading to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

I'm having a fantastic time but this bloody cold won't shift so I'm feeling pretty run down and tired now. Looking forward to going home and recharging a bit before A5.

I think A5 is going to be pretty low-key for me. I'm not doing any of the extras so it's just panels, photo ops and autographs for me. Plus hanging out with all my friends which is the really fun part. I suspect [livejournal.com profile] oddlyfamiliar and I will be flailing as it's the first time we're meeting in person.

Food now. TTFN!

Greetings from [livejournal.com profile] wincon

Well, this is certainly an experience and by experience I mean awesome. Fangirls are amazing.

I was a little worried about not knowing many people here but apparently I have had some sort of personality transplant because I have happily been talking to everyone and anyone. LOL!

But despite that I do know people here. [livejournal.com profile] vichan decided to come at the last minute and she is awesome. We are co-writing Dean/Cas badfic for the contest so you should be afraid *g*

We also had a mini-Smallville gathering last night as I met [livejournal.com profile] talitha78 and [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn and we hung out for a while.

I met [livejournal.com profile] kijikun at Chicon last weekend so we've been hanging out here a lot.

Actually, I've just realised that [livejournal.com profile] vichan is the one who dragged me into the Dean/Cas fandom and [livejournal.com profile] kijikun is the one who got me shipping Sam/Gabriel. I don't even know who got me shipping Sassy. I think I did that one by myself.

But everyone is awesome and friendly and I met two Brits last night so we were talking about the strangeness of America.

My panel starts in just under an hour so I'm having some quiet time before I have to go and be loud and sociable again. I'm kind of nervous but the two co-panelists I've met are chatty and awesome so I think it'll go really well. Cross your fingers for me.

This is my final Chicon video. Hope you enjoyed them all. I'm in the process of sorting through my photos so those will come later (my panel photos are shit though so don't expect many of those)

That is all I have to say about today at the moment

I seriously don't even know what day it is. My body clock is all screwed up.

I'm going to do a proper con report when I get home but have some key points from yesterday

1. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] lizajaneok, [livejournal.com profile] brihana25 and [livejournal.com profile] scarletsherlock. Really the best thing about these things are meeting up with all the awesome online people. Bri kept making me talk to people to demonstrate my accent. LOL!

2. At the Matt/Richard meet and greet Matt made me say 'cunt' to demonstrate how it's pronounced with my accent. Apparently someone told him that we don't pronounce the t in the UK. I went bright red but I did it.

3. When I got my photo op with Richard he remembered my name from the meet and greet. Such a sweetheart.

4. [livejournal.com profile] harper47 split the cost of a Matt/Richard duo and we got them to do this. Matt liked it so much he asked for a copy for himself and the photographer liked it so much he gave us extra copies and promised us the jpeg for free.

5. Richard pulled [livejournal.com profile] qthelights from the back and got her to sit with us. We were chastised for not letting her sit with us

6. Richard kept pausing to drink refreshing Pepsi and was wearing lots of merchandise for a joke. It was awesome

7. Richard said he thinks Gabriel liked Dean better than Sam and my Sam/Gabriel shipper heart broke

Chi - Day 2

Greetings and salutations! I woke up at 8am local time today so I think my body clock is slowly adjusting.

Chicon gets under way today. Excite! Already spotted Matt Cohen last night and Richard walked past up and waved and said hi. I think we might have been staring. Oops.

I love Chicago! It's such a beautiful and interesting city! And so clean! I tell you if London was like Chicago I would visit it a lot more often.

So yesterday we went out for brunch and had the most amazingest fantastic pancakes ever. [livejournal.com profile] wingsunfurled, [livejournal.com profile] qthelights, [livejournal.com profile] squeemonster and I all had different kinds and shared.

I had pretzel pancakes covered in white chocolate and caramel sauce. Wingz had chocolate pancakes with banana and oreo, Q had red velvet pancakes and Squee had pumpkin spice pancakes. They were all AMAZING!

After that we got a bit lost but I managed to get a cheap pay as you go phone so I don't have to pay epic roaming charges to call and text (if you need the number PM or e mail me)

Then we did the architectural boat tour which was awesome. It was an amazingly hot and sunny day and I actually got a bit sunburned because I just wasn't expecting this weather. Not complaining though. It was beautiful. Took lots of photos.

After an epic saga we eventually managed to find [livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7 and we walked over to Millenium Park. I loved it! It's much smaller than I was expecting but it's really cool. Took photos of myself reflected in The Bean so phase one of 'do what the boys in my fic did' is complete ;)

Remaining on said plan is go on the ferris wheel at Navy Pier (during which time Jared and Jensen fight about Misha. About him not over him *g*) and go on the glass platform of Sears Tower (during which time Jensen gets sick and Jared has to take him back to the hotel and look after him *g*). Then I will be done. LOL.

Not much to do this morning so I think we're just going to chill out. [livejournal.com profile] harper47 is waiting for me now so I'm going to sign off. Con tweets to come later and I think I've got photos with Matt and Richard later. [livejournal.com profile] qthelights talked me out of getting a just announced duo photo op with them. I've spent enough money really and I get a photo with them after the meet and greet anyway.

Oh, and keep me posted on any interesting fandom news. I don't really have time to read my epic flist while I'm here.

I do have fic recs for Monday though as I read several [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang fics on the plane.
